club med ria bintan, indonesia

the nearest club med village to singapore is club med ria bintan. it is accessible by 45 mins ferry, followed by 15 mins land transfer. club med cherating is slightly further and requires air travel.

going to any club med is a morale booster to most employees. club med villages are popular worldwide. one of the biggest crowd drawer of club med villages are their friendly and fun loving G.O.s (roughly means gentle organisers) and the wide range of activities that are available at the resort.

club med g.o.s are a bunch of fun loving, talented and high energy individuals who will take initiative to strike a conversation with the guests, and also take charge of oranising fun activities during the scheduled timings.

one of the most common response we get from our clients when we mention club med is "isn't it expensive?" our response will be, "yes, and no".

yes, if you are going for more than one night's stay, as you have to pay for the $60 per year memebership plus an additional night's stay, but it may still be worthwhile, as an incentive to the staff.

definitely no, if you intend to use the seminar rooms for games or meetings. club med ria bintan typically charges around S$400 per participant*(for 2D1n packages, NOW AVAILABLE TILL mAY 2007(THEIR PEAK PERIOD), excluding our team bulding charges of about $160 per person, depending on group size), depending on the season. this rate includes ferry tickets, land transfers, seminar room and equipment rental (first confirmed booking first served basis), usage of public run club med activities (like kayaking, archery, trapez, pool games... etc) and last but not least, true international buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner!!! we find it to be a good deal! plus the fact that the staff at the resort are friendly and helpful and thus make the job of team building facilitators like us easier.

We have conducted team building for United arab shipping co and economic development board of singapore at club med ria bintan, and they both loved the place, we will be travelling up with monetary authority of singapore next week and we will keep you posted of the outcome.

team building at club med usually includes 1.5-day programme, with 0.5 day R&R time for the staff to enjoy the facilities at club med.

NOTE on 14 Mar 2008: club med has ceased their 2d1n packages, so trips to club med must be at least 3d2n.

below are some pcitures of club med ria bintan.

Edb electronics group and united arab shipping company at club med ria bintan, respectively.

there is one more thing that you need to know if you are considering club med ria bintan as your next team building venue: they have the NICEST beach in bintan (according to our experience). from what we understand, they engage cleaners to clean up the beach every morning and terry (their beach master incharge of sea sports) is also obsessed with keeping the beach clean!
